Red orchestra 2: heroes of Stalingrad

A place to discuss upcoming new games, we'll let you talk about Call of Duty but you will run the risk of being ridiculed or banned if you sound like a fan boy!

It's on Steam now, 10% off, releasing 13 September 2011. Looks a pretty decent WW2 game.......and it has rifles again......like proper 1 shot rifles.... :O

Anyone purchased this game?

If so, whats it like ? ....worth real money or is it another over-hyped piece of trash that should be torrented?
The best defence against software piracy is producing a game worth buying.

So, spent a few hours downloading it, and cant sleep so am trying it out!

So far, training mission. Have to say i'm impressed! There's 2 campaigns (axis and alllied, axis is locked atm.) Basically, it seems VERY realistic! You have to dial in sights on snipers and rifles, and take into account the bullet drop! Also, they've built in something COD missed.....that if you're using a sniper, the ironsights are still on there! You can change to ironsights or stay zoomed in on scope! Another thing is when using the deployable mg's, if you fire too much too fast, they overheat and the barrels burn out or something (i dont get physics...and wasnt listening fully.) Anyway, you get to change the barrels on these guns to make them usable again! Will update once i finish training

this game is amazing! Haven't played on mp yet as steam is [sh*t] and keeps telling me my pb isnt installed, but hopefully new update will have fixed that so will try it later!

Basically, gametype on sp so far, is you have objectives, have to clear these (your squad spawns, your in control and you command where they go, where they defend etc.)

It's fantastic to play a WW2 game where 1 real shot, actually does kill! There is a chance of being bandaged if it's not a life threatening shot, but its very very good. Ice t bag , u know you want to buy.
