OK, I've played it for about 50 minutes and I can now review it, I will use images for my review as I feel a visual review will get the message across better.

Poor man's Crysis?

Its a cross between Crysis (Weapon Attachments), R6 Vegas 2 (3rd/1st person combo), Gears of War (cover system), COD (screen spam) and BF3 (ranking system and stats) ....but its all put together really poorly.

Graphics:
The graphics are crap by todays standards. It's as if they have put a blur effect over the top of everything...imagine smearing vaseline over your monitor whilst playing BF3 to get the idea...it just looks [sh*t]!

Sound:
Probably the only good thing about the game that was done well, and it isnt even that amazing - but it does work.

GUI:
Console written all over it, nuff said!

Lobby System:
Console, think of how COD 5 was made with the gay lobby match making system, its like that, you cant filter by map, etc and it took a while to join as a party even though my party only consisted of 2 people.

Gameplay:
The movement feels sluggish, the screen is too busy with 'futuristic targetting boxes, and squad-on-a-rope-helmet-info (imagine playing footy where everyone is connected by a large rope, think its there to let the 'casual gaymer' know where their team is (should they not be able to workout the blue dots on the map are friendlies!). It just feels cheap to play, and on some maps is too strongly balanced for snipers (think BF3 metro but on a more claustraphobic level and your halfway there).

Things they did well:

:: The installer - it installed fine
:: Sound - nothing amazing, but it works
:: The QUIT button - although the GUI is a [f*cking] mess, the quit button does its job and lets you get the hell out of there pronto!

Things they shouldnt have done:

:: Use 3rd person
:: Implement the vaseline effect
:: Made this game
:: Got out of bed!

Things they shouldnt do in future releases:

:: breed and have offspring

Summary:

They have well and truly destroyed the Ghost Recon franchise. The first GR was the best, it they just remade that to make use of modern tech they would have been onto a winner, but they had to cater to the console and its 'casual gaYmers' who Im sure will love this game as it is made for them.

I'm disgusted with Red Storm Entertainment, they had a chance to back up their great reputation from earlier Rainbow Six titles and they screwed it up big time. I cant believe they would put their name to such a crap game.
