i think theres an option you can check, which allows you to do unautomise teh default choosing of audio lines. so yeah with this option checked all u gotta do is choose wich audio line out you want in the audio options. thru the driver, ya get?

here goes
open sound control panel..right click it for (say in david bowie voice) open volume control (thats speaker ont desk top bottom right by time choose line in and tick mute box now only head set shoud have sound ie called front audio in the grey box you may have to tick the box in properties so it shows up in the grey box and do reverse to get speaker sound back
you can use the audio panel from whatever sound device you have eg i have realtek so i would open the realtek sound set up (again found by timebottom right)and do exactly the same in that as i have done in the windows one its just prefrence
the difrence being its called mixer/in realtek and instead of dull grey its colourful ui and the line in has a little speaker below the slider bar
rememember you only have to show the panels for what sound devices your using thus making it easier to switch on and of what you want
if you need me ill be in the shower eating soup with a fork

now if you want a real soup experience you should try eating miso soup with a fork in the shower!!
miso is far too cosmopolitan for yorkyshire
come to think of it what's he doing having soup wth chives in? they're GREEN
even more amazing how did he manage to fry soup? won't the lard float on top?
