I've just been reading the OF2:DR forums and this game could turn out to be another FarCry 2

Apparently....

:: The ingame graphics on max settings are not as good as the videos would make out. It runs better than Arma2 but looks worse at the same time.
:: The environment is not destructible.
:: You cant move your head whilst driving a vehicle, and the vehicles have poor physics making them unrealistic.
:: It has consolotis written all over it apparently.
:: The AI is patchy in consistency, its either good or really bad.
:: Its a cross between BF and COD, it is not a milsim like the original OF game.
:: No dedicated server files on release (like FC2)...and no cd-key so this game is going to pirated to death.
:: In MP, if you get shot it takes several minutes to bleed out, thats several minutes stuck on the floor unable to do anything...unless (a) a medic saves you, or (b) a colleague puts you out of your misery!

Im hoping the above 'jist' of things are over exagerated by picky forum members, but the general theme of things is that the PC version has been ruined by consolitis. :x

doesn't look too good according to this guy's post :(
Meaning you have to get a 16 vs 16 lobby group together, then start the game and hope noone drops during the match cause they can't be replaced. Not to mention the shitty lag since the host is also playing.
as for singleplayer some even suggest using a xbox controller

let's hope me pre-ordering borderlands isn't too hasty as well, another multiplatform game...

There are discussions on the official OF2 forums that suggest that when SADS is released it will support 64 players, hopefully the "join game in progress" will be available....otherwise its a consolised structured MP doomed to failure like FC2 MP was.

Even a console user has apologised on the forum to PC users lol, he cant believe how limited the PC game is just because the developer wanted the game to be the same on all platforms....just like the FC2 devs said.

Looks like serious simulation on the PCs is doomed as the market is too little to justify the development time/costs. Instead we're lumbered with console ports that suck eggs. This makes me appreciate Cryteks Crysis more, sure it has high system requirements, but they didnt give a [sh*t] it would have limited market value....they wanted to create an awesome game that raised the par.

Hopefully actual experience of playing the game myself will prove some of what Ive read to be over-reactions and I'll enjoy it, otherwise its going to be a coaster like FC2 DVD, atleast I saved money pre-ordering if the worst come true.
