I have to for my web/art work since TFT's dont show colour properly...plus Im too cheap to fork out for a decent one

I once had a samsung crt. but at some point it had gotten so old that all the colors was really ugly. I did not notice cos it happend over time. Then I replaced it with a cheap acer tft monitor. And I love it .
Do you really think the colors gets so bad on tft ?

tis true . i cry,d when i had to dump my 19" crt max res 1600x1200 mainly cos it was the width of a dining table and the cream had turned a strange nicotine yellow with finger splodges

Do you really think the colors gets so bad on tft ?

You'd be suprised how different this forum looks on a CRT compared to a TFT mate in terms of contrast (TFTs dont do black-to-white as well as CRTs, so the forum looks darker on a TFT compared to a CRT (as the CRT picks up the varying greys).

I have made several comparisons of websites on CRT/TFT monitors, there are noticeable differences which can make working with pastel colours a nightmare.

Screen media aside, I also do some print media work on the side and good colour representation is important for that (if you cant afford a CMYK palette catalog).

Some TFTs come with a shiny screen that makes the colours more vivid and improves contrast, I could live with one of those, but each manufacturer has a different name for it.

i have a crt and TFT and my TFT is much more better with colours maybe i got lucky
