what firmware is the corsair runnning 1.3version

on computer power on
tap the key that asks for wich device it will boot from//f12 in my case//
find the device in list hit enter when its highlighted,, if it works straight away you then need to go in bios and set it to be first boot device
thats the simple version

also the cors forum for error and issues
http://forum.corsair.com/v3/forumdisplay.php?f=188

startup and hibernation issues taken from same site above

http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=94439

plug it into the grey sata ports for 3gb speed (to check it works fine without issue) .
then retry in 6gb sata port

So I updated the BIOS (0702) switched to the SATA2 port and the SSD was making sweet love to windows! Updated the firmware on the SSD (the update tool was now able to see the drive unlike before) and switched back to the SATA3 port... aaaand no windows 7. Unfortunally it's time for bed so I haven't gotten around to finding out why the SATA3 port is no dice. I think it has to do with the controller driver (Marvel), Anywhooo I left some fun for tomorrow night.

ok let me get my head around this
question=Q answer = A you posting :)

Q,,so you updated firmware and all is working on the sata2

but when you try the ssd on the 6gb sata it dosent work

but switching back to sata 2 the ssd worked again ?
A,,

Q,, hopfully you only have the ssd drive plugged in
no sata dvd of other stuff ?
A,,

try a fresh install of win7 with it plugged into sata 3 6gb and only the ssd drive (windows picks up [sh*t] added later anywho,s )as win 7 trundles on it will then tell you wether or not it can detect your drive

Q,,on thinking to myself i bet you install win7 with a dvd dont you (i used usb stick its easier and counters the issue of sata dvd drive that used to crop up now and again on some mobo,s)if you are using dvd still try on the sata 3 with it and see if windows installer ticks over and finds the drive?
A,,

Yes

but when you try the ssd on the 6gb sata it dosent work

True

but switching back to sata 2 the ssd worked again ?

True

Nothing but the SSD plugged in the SATA ports

try a fresh install of win7 with it plugged into sata 3 6gb and only the ssd drive (windows picks up [sh*t] added later anywho,s )as win 7 trundles on it will then tell you wether or not it can detect your drive

I'm installing from a USB stick.

Read elsewhere about the method you are proposing installing win7 with the SSD plugged into the SATA 2 3gb port and then switching to SATA 3 6gb after the installation. So this is the next step I will take.
