Just received an email from Overclockers about the new Ati 58xx series cards.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productli ... dium=email

Prices range from £173 (5850) to £270 (5870).

I wonder how a 5850 compares to a 4890 Toxic Edition (overclocked) as they have a similar price.

No 5850 there but there are some benchmarks floating about putting it between the 4890 and 5870

The power consumption on the new 40nm 5800 series cards seems really good, and Sapphire are working on a Vapor-X version that should run cooler and quieter than the reference cards (which already boast impressive temp/noise credentials).

There are no 5850 reviews yet, plenty of 5870's but at over £300 its a bit too pricey for me :( (unless I win the lotto tonight  ), so i may have to opt for the 5850.

The DirectX 11 spec sounds impressive, I just hope devs make use of it as there was only 33 titles released for DX10.x since its release!!!

$259/£162 for the HD 5850 which puts it slighty ahead of the 4870 again the shops will prolly add somthing to this so be warned

for you guys living down south and not in distance of the shop no its not this is

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/175124

why i hear u cry because its free p&p
so the bottom line is yes if u live in west yorkshire , no if u live outside, ebuyer is

plus give it until after xmas and see were the prices are. you know it will dwindle down in price across the whole of the high platform because of these new cards and 4800 series cards will become nice n cheap,
