Cardiff....Trully the shittest place on the planet

Cardiff is undergoing something of a renaissance, with the arrival of the Welsh Assembly and the finest stadium in the UK. Not enough of a renaissance for many, however.
It claims to be a capital city but really it's small, partisan and insular. There is nothing to do in Cardiff. Nothing, Except maybe take a sightseeing bus around the government buildings and Cardiff Bay..... taking all of 5 minutes out of your day. This bay consists of a prefab hut where the Welsh Assembly meets. there is also a cinema/restuarant complex where you can fight off boredom for about two hours before its sickly, modern synthetic nature becomes too much. Then you're just left with miles and miles of derelict land.....
Cardiff Culture
There is no doubt that Cardiff is the cultureal mecca for South Wales. Imagine a gold rush town from an old Western - a shimmering oasis filled with people on the make, ready to fight at the drop of a bottle of barcardi breezer, and surrounded by tumble weeded wilderness. Apparently having more shops than any other town in a hundred miles radius makes a capital out of a pretty ordinary dull city.
Which explains why when you visit Cardiff on a Saturday afternoon you'll see lots of bemused valley people wandering round and round the St David's shopping centre, looking for Peacocks but finding Oasis, mervelling at the fact that you can shop indoors and wondering whether they'll ever be as glamorous as the girls in Debenhams.
Sadly even the call fo the Fruit of The Loom jumper and a Benetton drawstring rucksack couldn't keep me in South Wales for long - the worry that i'd end up married to someone called Aberfa and have a kid called Geraint was too much!!!!
