what error do you get?

None, if i load up the DVD the INSTALL option is disabled. If I explore the DVD and run SETUP.EXE I get the repair / configure / uninstall options.....no options to install a new copy.

For those tempted to do the same:

1> Uninstall FarCry
2> Run Windows Installer Cleanup Utility (google it) and delete any FarCry References
3> Install FarCry 1.0
4> Patch from 1.0 > 1.3 > 1.31 > 1.33

2 years ago an 1.33 unoffcial full patch (42MB) had been released which i've been using ever since.

it beats downloading and installing those 3 patches.

Nice one, you can also use the v1.0 no cd/dvd crack to run the game on any patched version without the DVD

PS anyone know why \rcon listplayers doesn't list the players on screen??? it lists them on the server log though (which is no good if you want to kick )

i used to get the problem where list players did not work and was told my router was blocking a certain port.
