here's some more reading material on the u2412m :)

To make it even more difficult Samsung is releasing a PLS(similar to IPS) display S24A850DW Q4 2011

problem with picking a monitor today is that there isn't a clear winner, they all have pro's and cons making it harder too choose. :~

I know! I'm going bonkers :uwhat:

Well it seems that the Dell U2412M has a "game" mode wich reduces input lag to a minimum of 14.4 ms and a max of 20 ms, which i guess would be okay in most games. The display is actually 80 quid cheaper than the BenQ so I'm very close to a purchase (x3).

Updated rig:

CPU: Intel Core i7 2600K Sandy Bridge
MoBo: ASUS MAXIMUS IV EXTREME-Z
SSD: OCZ Vertex 3 SSD - 120 GB
PSU: CORSAIR AX 1200W PROFESSIONAL
CPU Cooling: Corsair H100 Hydro Series CWCH100
Chasis: Corsair Obsidian 800D
RAM: G.Skill 8GB DDR3 1600MHz (2x4) F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL
Display: 3 x Dell 24" UltraSharp U2412M IPS Panel

Still need to decide on GPU's: 2 x 590 or 2 x 6990? I'm worried that the 6990 simply produces too much heat and therefore the 590 would be a better choice.

nice, just a bit more luxurious then mine. :)

another option for graphics cards in 3x MSI N580GTX Lightning Xtreme Edition

vertex 3 might BSOD so if it does you'll have to update the firmware.
since you're probably using the ssd for windows you'll have to do it the not-so-easy way

That's a sweet looking card! But a pretty steep price (504 gbp) I wonder how they would stack up against 2x6990? Some time ago Xfire scaling was king but after nVidia updated their drivers it's pretty evenly matched...

Is their a better choice of SSD in your opinion? (was looking at the corsair force 3)

after firmware update I haven't had a single BSOD since. vertex still is the fastest ssd out there (unless you count the OCZ RevoDrive  )

the MSI N580GTX Lightning (not the extreme edition) doesn't have all the gimmicks. when I ordered it it was sold out :(
