Good UK Layout keyboard
Wrong, extensive research by our operative in Yorkyshire shows that Microsoft & Logitech are redefining the UK layout by moving the # keyDrZux wrote:Think he's hiding, because he has realised that all UK keyboards have the same layout.
While Cherry are reassigning the position of the # and the \ keys.

I appreciate all the posts so far....keep them coming
For me, my main concern is with the location of the @ # and RETURN key shape, which as Sky has pointed out can vary between manufacturers.
The problem is made worse by retailers using reference pics which are almost always US style, also some 'UK' keyboards come with a Euro sign which I dont want.
Im currently looking at the Cherry G83-6105 that retails for less than £20, however i've read on the DABS website that a customer who bought one noticed the Y and Z where in the wrong places!!! I have contacted DABS to confirm this and Im awaiting a reply.
I've also looked at the Microsoft Digital Media Keyboard 3000 but again I cant find a picture of a UK layout, its all US reference pics. The Cherry G85-23000GB-2 also looks nice....but can I find a pic of a UK layout
So, while most keyboards sold in the UK will be localised for the UK, this does not mean they will use the UK Standard Layout as posted in my initial post. The Logitech RETURN key on current models appears to be a different shape for example.

That Y and Z swap over sounds like it was setup as a german one if memory serves me correct and telling windows its a uk layout would correct it. Cant be arsed to google to see if it is german though

I think the reviewer meant the physical keyboard had the keys in the wrong place, as opposed to a regional setting issue on the OS....though technically that should make it a QWERTZ keyboard and not a QWERTY lol.DrZux wrote:That Y and Z swap over sounds like it was setup as a german one if memory serves me correct and telling windows its a uk layout would correct it. Maybe the user was retarded, though they bought it as a replacement so Id have thought the regional settings would have been set to UK beforehand on his previous keyboard.
Anyway, atleast there is deffo one keyboard I know is laid out how I want it

Tricks are fine in general mate, cant get online with BF2 Bad Company though. Saying that I had a breakthrough earlier, pissed about with my router settings and the game updated. By the time it had finished I was watching a film. Just got to sort my mic out now. Installed TS3 and TS2 in anticipation. I hope the online version of Bad Company is better than the SP, talk about to many movie cuts.IceT-Bag wrote:Hows tricks Zuxxy anyway? Hopefully be up for a bash in the week. What weekday night are most of us on. Also found my FC disc so going to install that as well.
