not sure about BF:bad company 2
the original bad company game was console exclusive, we'll probably soon know when BF1943 is released if dice is consoleporting their games too.

btw the list of consoleports doesnt stop there, borderlands is also a consoleport(textboxes by default cant be scroll with mouse)

Well I haven't received my version but will happily give me thought afterwards.

But so far the pc reviews have been very positive about the game.

as for the scrollbox thingy... thats what tweaking is for :p

Code: Select all

To enable scroll wheel in text boxes:
-----------------------------------
Within WillowInput.ini

Search for all instances of the following (there should only be two instances):

InputKeyName="MouseScrollUp",ModifierKeyFlags=42
InputKeyName="MouseScrollDown",ModifierKeyFlags=42

remove the ",ModifierKeyFlags=42" so they look like:

InputKeyName="MouseScrollUp"
InputKeyName="MouseScrollDown"

IW may not take notice, but it may grab the attention of some media outlets. At the end of the day, this isnt just about IW, lots of games on the PC of late have been consolised in both game play and features. PC gamers are fed up of it, the whole IW:MW2 issue was the straw that broke the camels back!

FarCry 2 - consolised
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising - consolised
Rainbow Six Lockdown - consolised
Rainbow Six Vegas - consolised
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 - consolised
Modern Warfare 2 - consolised

...those are just off the top of my head, Im sure there are many more.

The only recent FPS games I can think of that made full use of the PC platform are: ArmA2 and Crysis. Hopefully BF2:BC2 will also fall into this category.

:rip: :flasher: :rip:
couldnt agree more, the PC is what gets the port now and im worried it is just going to get worse. i suppose from a developers eyes what is easier to make a game for - 1 standard machine or a machine that as xxxx amount of different software/hardware combinations.

as with everything it boils down to money, which they can make a [sh*t] load off on the consoles with DLC. this is a no go area really for the pc but MMO games on the pc are booming cos you pay monthly.

console = fps games
pc = mmo

thats the way i see it now :(

last time i checked RTS games like command & conquer are for pc only (apart from that one big FAIL called Halo Wars)
also we have Blizzard to look forward to with star craft 2 and diablo 3 :lol: and Bethesda with the superior Elder Scrolls series (and fallout 3)
atm its just a huge battle for fps games: pc v. console

*DING* FIGHT!!!
