bump ...ok have been happy as for the last 2 and a half years with this but the last 2 games i think have been dragging abit....cant afford a new pc but was thinking about upgrading some stuff....ie

grafik card, ram etc

any ideas/recommendations what i should do you pc geeks out there...REMEMBER its xmas so i aint got a lot of money to spare

I'm at work so don't have time for research....but find my pc build thread and see if you can get hold of the mobo, cpu, ram and graphics card as me....then see if its in your budget.

I have no performance issues running bf3.

Overall the spec you have isn't bad. You could try a bit of overclocking on the chip and a new graphics card would probably see you right for another year or so.
AMD have just officially announced the 7970 so existing cards should tumble in price a bit just after x-mas and you may be able to pick up a bargain on a 570 or 6950

Dooh - the Piggy just ordered the MSI 560GTX Ti twin frozer 2GB/OC ... and usually 'old' graphic cards dosen't price drop too much. I think my old Radeon 4870 is roughly the same price as when I bought it 3 years ago.
