Coming of BFBC2 the maps in this game seems to be designed to emphasize a more intens feel (read: smaller maps) wich results in everyone running around like headless chickens shooting left and right. Gameplay is mediocre and theres no environmental destruction to speak off. I think COD [Gay Ops] will do a better job than this.

I was not around in the Far Cry days but your point about everybody looking ahead for new games seems fair, but remember that MW2 ended up beeing about politics (dedicated servers an what have you) wich resulted in many people skipping that game. I guess that was ment to be a clan-blockbuster.axeskyhigh wrote:i agree compared to bfbc2 every other map seems small, and it would be nice to have some environment destroyable.Mr. Plow wrote:Call me a game snob but I'm not too impressed with MP. my point was that since farcry we seem to go into new games expecting perfection and when we do not get it we moan, we fail to remember that farcry was patched and modded over and over which gave people so much choice that sooner or later we were going to find a server with just what we wanted.
you cannot expect that of a new game (you cannot please everyone with just one version)
at the moment our favourite people and clans are spread over several games because no one is totally happy with just one game.
i think this is more because we have become more picky and harder to please than the games being inferior.
i am not saying moh is great. i'm just saying that it is getting increasingly frustrating not being able to play one game with friends often enough,
because everyone is always looking ahead to games in the future instead of playing what is available now.

Me and my bro played some more last night, still getting loads of EA Server issues but eventually both of us got onto a server and played until we were both bored to death of the map (shakoti mountain).
I like the Combat Mission (shakoti mountain) idea, it is more or less the same structure as Farcry's Assault mode, however the gameplay just isnt that enjoyable. You cant settle into the game because you spend most of it respawning (and I was one of the top 5 players on most rounds). You die quicker in this game more than you do in COD4. When attacking, spawning on the front lines is just asking to be killed before you can even get your bearings!
There is also death lag, whereby you run between cover and die once you're in the safety of cover (usually shot by someone using a pistol about 800 virtual yards away)....however it is a beta and no doubt network tweaks will be made before the offial game launch.
The game runs better than BF2 but that is presumably because there is no where near as much environmental destruction in MOH than there is in BC2 (no collapsing buildings, etc).
Pros:
:: Combat Mission (Assault Mode)
:: Nice looking maps
:: Really nice assault rifle nade mechanics (better than BC2)
Cons:
:: Nothing new compared to previous FPS titles of the last 5 years
:: You die too quickly which lessens the enjoyment of the game as you cant 'get into it'
:: EA Server issues (EA underestimating demand as per BC2 beta)
:: Gameplay gets boring after a while - but only because you're playing the same map over and over and over as its a beta.
Still wouldnt purchase it for MP.

The best defence against software piracy is producing a game worth buying.

being able to respawn next to your squad m8's means you can be right at the front of the action and in a firefight which results in alot of quick deathsIceT-Bag wrote:Me and my bro played some more last night, still getting loads of EA Server issues but eventually both of us got onto a server and played until we were both bored to death of the map (shakoti mountain).

but you can elaect to spawn at base too
and not having a limit on snipers or ranges pistols are accurate at means you can be killed from across the map after an hour or so i have found it to be really enjoyable and like the assault mode aka farcry had a good session yesterday playing on near empty server with sky,skelpth, sains and umbungles!!
edit....u bin porked for double spamming

I ment the GAME is stupid - stupid!

there's a random no sway bug, only seen it as a sniper but it's awesome. no doubt the cheats will find out how to turn it on permenantly. "Combat Mission" is ok, a cross between FC Assault and CoD Sabotage. "Sector Control" is CoD Domination but the demo map is small like Killhouse, go and try to play Domination in Killhouse on a 24 player server
No visible ping but very apparent kill lag (both as killed and killer), glitchy rocks like FC (can be seen but not killed or can't be seen and can kill). No prone and no sprint+sidestep like BF:BC2. CAN turn off music and annoying voiceover.

I've heard Hanzy talk!
Some people are like Slinkies. They’re not really good for anything; but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs!
